Privacy

This page explains what Arkbuddy-Chan stores, why it is used, where it may be processed, and the ways you can delete chats, memories, login sessions, and other account-linked data.

Stored Data

What Arkbuddy-Chan stores

Arkbuddy-Chan stores data only when it is needed to run the chat, Discord bot, voice features, image features, personalization, premium access, moderation, or reliability checks.

Chat sessions

User messages, assistant replies, generated chat titles, session IDs, source labels, timestamps, active subject state, and links to generated or attached images and files.

Discord login

Discord ID, username, avatar, global name, selected guild details, login cookies, server-side session tokens, OAuth refresh tokens, and premium tier or role status.

Personalization

Durable memories, opinion notes, relationship or closeness state, recent reasons for that state, and Discord incognito preferences.

Discord bot use

Discord user, server, channel, voice session, and chat identifiers tied to bot conversations, saved Discord chat sessions, teaching submissions, teaching votes, interaction IDs, and command usage state.

Voice and media

Voice audio is streamed for transcription or speech playback. Transcripts may become chat messages. Uploaded images are temporarily processed and may be stored with Cloudinary links.

Analytics and logs

Request paths, methods, status codes, response timing, page events, message/tool/TTS/STT counters, live connection activity, errors, and Google Analytics page data.

Use

How the data is used

  • To show previous chats, keep sessions connected to your browser, and generate replies with the right conversation context.
  • To personalize Arkbuddy-Chan with saved memories, opinions, relationship state, and premium access.
  • To power Discord bot conversations, show saved Discord sessions on the website, continue those sessions from the website, Discord login, Discord role-based premium checks, teaching submissions, and interaction buttons.
  • To process voice transcription, text-to-speech playback, uploaded images, generated images, downloadable files, and other assistant tools.
  • To measure reliability, diagnose errors, count feature usage, detect abuse, and keep the site and bot running.

Processing

Where data may be processed

Arkbuddy-Chan uses Redis and app server storage for chat and account-linked state. Depending on the feature, data may also be sent to external services that provide Discord login, AI replies, realtime transcription, text-to-speech, image upload hosting, analytics, or generated media.

  • Messages, transcripts, attachments, prompts, and relevant context may be sent to AI, transcription, TTS, or tool providers to generate the response you requested.
  • Uploaded images may be sent to Cloudinary for hosted image URLs after temporary local processing.
  • Discord login and bot features use Discord IDs, guild information, interaction data, and OAuth tokens.
  • Google Analytics and internal analytics receive page and event data for usage and reliability reporting.
Arkbuddy-Chan does not sell your personal data. External services may process submitted data under their own terms and retention rules.

Deletion

How to delete your data

  1. Delete a website chat from the Chats list in /chat by pressing the trash icon beside that chat. This removes that chat session from storage and from your chat list.
  2. Delete a saved Discord chat session from the Chats list in /chat by pressing the trash icon beside the Discord-labeled chat. This removes Arkbuddy-Chan's stored copy of that session, but it does not delete the original Discord messages from Discord channels or DMs.
  3. Use the Discord command /delete_discord_sessions current to remove the stored Discord session for the current channel, /delete_discord_sessions voice to remove your voice chat session for the current server, or /delete_discord_sessions all confirm:true to remove all stored Discord chat sessions connected to your Discord user ID.
  4. Ask Arkbuddy-Chan to forget a specific saved memory, such as "forget that I play on this server." If a matching memory exists, the memory tool can remove it.
  5. Use /logout to remove your active Discord login session from server storage and clear login cookies in your browser.
  6. Clear your browser's site data for arkbuddychan.app to remove local cookies and browser-held session state from that device.
  7. For full deletion of account-linked data, contact TristanGames through Discord and ask for a privacy deletion. Include your Discord user ID, the browser or chat you used, and whether you want chats, memories, opinions, Discord bot history, teaching submissions, uploaded images, or generated files removed.
Full account-level deletion is currently handled manually so the right user and data can be verified before records are removed.

Retention

How long it is kept

Website chat sessions, personalization records, teaching data, and uploaded media references can remain until you delete them or request deletion. Discord chat sessions are cleared after 30 days with no interaction, and can be deleted sooner from the website chat list or with the /delete_discord_sessions Discord command. Discord login sessions are time-limited on the server, while browser cookies can remain longer so you do not have to log in every visit. Aggregated analytics and operational logs may be kept for reliability and abuse prevention.
